Authorities say five people have been wounded in a shooting in Brooklyn, and one has suffered serious injuries.
Fire Department officials said ambulances responded to reports of gunshot victims at an address in the borough's Red Hook neighborhood shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. Two men had jumped out of a silver SUV on Dwight Street, opened fire, and then fled the scene, police said.
The victims -- three women and two men, ranging in age from 19 to 22 -- were shot just after 10:50 p.m. Monday. Two 20-year-old men were shot in the torso, and a 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman were both shot in the leg.
The 19-year-old woman was shot in torso and is in critical condition. The rest of the victims were hospitalized in stable condition. Four of the five were taken to Lutheran Medical Center. The fifth, a man, was taken to Methodist Hospital.
There were no arrests and no weapons were recovered. The motive is unknown.
Twenty-two people were shot in the city between Friday and Sunday -- three of them fatally. Most were in Brooklyn, including nine people shot in East New York early Sunday morning.
